6.Rules for posts, ratings and photos
Write only about your own experience: your visit to the place, the food and drink you were served, or your stay. A post must relate to the place you publish it under.
Be honest and accurate. An honest negative post is allowed and useful to others, and a place cannot ask us to remove it just because it is negative. Share your opinion, and state facts (for example, that you felt unwell after a meal) only if they are true.
Rate a dish only if it was actually served to you, and give category ratings only for what you could judge on that visit. Don’t publish more than one review of the same visit.
Only post photos that are your own or that you have the right to publish (up to 9 per post), showing the place, the food, the drink or your experience there. Don’t post other people’s photos from the internet, or photos in which other people can be clearly recognised without their consent.
Comments and replies are subject to the same rules as posts.
9.Ratings and rankings
A place’s rating is calculated only from the overall ratings in guests’ reviews, its category ratings only from guests’ category ratings, and dish rankings only from guests’ dish ratings.
Ratings and rankings exclude labelled content (“Kvart editors”, “Hosted visit”, “Paid partnership” and “Sponsored”), content still pending review, removed content and content from deleted accounts. Whenever any of this changes, ratings are recalculated.
We don’t ask for a receipt or other proof of a visit, and we can’t check every post. That’s why, when you publish, you commit to writing from your own experience, while we look into reports and ratings that seem suspicious and remove fake posts.
Ratings, rankings and the order of guest posts cannot be bought. They are not affected by claiming a place profile, by advertising, or by any service a place contracts with us.
To keep ratings fair, we may exclude ratings we reasonably suspect to be fake or coordinated, and set a minimum number of ratings a place or dish needs to appear in a ranking. A place’s rating is not shown until it has at least 3 ratings.
The order of places and posts in lists and search results depends on criteria such as relevance to what you’re looking for, how recent they are, distance (if location access is allowed), ratings and the number of ratings. In the “For you” feed, the order may also depend on your city, the people you follow and what you like and save.
A rating summarises users’ opinions at a given moment. It is not Kvart’s assessment or a certificate of quality, and it changes as new posts come in.
The “Local” badge is awarded automatically to users with 10 published reviews without a label. The badge shows activity on Kvart; it doesn’t mean we have verified the user’s identity or expertise. If reviews are removed for breaking the rules, the badge may be lost.
11.For place owners
A place profile can be claimed free of charge by the owner, a manager or a staff member authorised by the place. You send the request in the app (“Claim profile”) with your full name, your role at the place, your email and your phone number. By sending the request, you confirm that you are authorised to represent the place and that the information is accurate.
We verify authorisation by calling the place on the number shown on its fiscal receipt or public profile (for example, on Google), or from a document such as an APR registration decision or another document showing your connection to the place. We may ask for additional evidence. We get back to you within 2 working days of receiving the request, and we reject the request if the connection to the place isn’t proven.
Once verification succeeds, the place receives the “Verified place” mark (a blue badge next to the place’s name). The mark only means we have checked that the person managing the profile represents the place. It doesn’t mean we guarantee the place’s quality, hygiene, permits or the lawfulness of its business.
A place owner can:
- reply to posts officially — the reply is shown first under the post, marked “Official”;
- update the place’s menu, photos, opening hours, description and contact details;
- publish news from the place profile (for example, new dishes), shown as the place’s own content that doesn’t count towards ratings;
- see aggregate statistics (views, saves, new reviews), without information about who viewed the profile.
A place owner cannot edit, delete or hide guests’ posts and ratings, or rate their own place. Offering a discount, gift or other benefit for a positive post or for removing a negative one, or asking only satisfied guests for posts, is not allowed.
A place owner can report a post that breaks the rules, just like any user. We decide on reports according to these Terms, not according to whether a post is positive or negative. Official replies must be polite and relevant to the post, and must not contain the guest’s personal data, threats, insults or advertising.
The place is responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the information it enters about itself (prices, menu, allergens, opening hours, photos). When you use Kvart on behalf of a place, you do so in the course of business and also accept these Terms on behalf of the company or sole trader running the place; consumer protection provisions don’t apply to that relationship unless the law provides otherwise.
If several people claim the same profile, or if the place changes owner or management, we may temporarily suspend management of the profile until it is clear who represents the place. We may withdraw the “Verified place” mark and access to the profile if the information proves inaccurate or if the place breaches these Terms.
Nothing is paid for in the app. We may offer additional paid services for places (for example, advertising) only outside the app, under a separate written agreement. Those services don’t affect ratings, rankings or the order of guest posts, and advertising is always labelled “Sponsored”.
13.Moderation, reports and blocking
We have zero tolerance for illegal content, hate speech, pornography and sexual content, violence, harassment, scams and fake reviews, and for any abuse of Kvart. We deal with such content within 24 hours of finding it ourselves or receiving a report: we remove it and, depending on the case, suspend or permanently close the account that posted it. You can report content and block users at any time.
You can report a post, a comment or a user’s profile from the “⋯” menu; for a post you also pick a reason: fake review or ad, offensive content, shares personal info, wrong place tagged, or something else. We review reports within 24 hours: we remove content that breaks the rules and take measures against the account that posted it, as described in “Enforcement and appeals”.
You can also block a user. Their posts and comments are then no longer shown to you, any follows between you end, and Kvart automatically receives a report about the block.
You can also report a post, comment or profile in the app without an account; such a report is not linked to any account. Anyone else can report illegal content by emailing the address in the “Contact” section: tell us where the content is, why you believe it is illegal and how we can reach you.
We may temporarily hide reported content, or content that appears to break the rules, from other users and mark it “Pending”. After review, we either restore it or remove it.
We also review content we come across ourselves. We have the right, but no general obligation, to review all content; the fact that we haven’t removed something doesn’t mean we approve of it. Please report in good faith — abusing reports is a breach of these Terms.
To prevent abuse, we may limit how many posts, comments and reports can be made in a given period.
16.Liability
We provide Kvart “as is” and “as available”. We do our best to keep it reliable, but we don’t guarantee that it will always be available or error-free. Because of maintenance, faults, network problems or force majeure, Kvart may be temporarily unavailable or some data may not be shown; we work to fix this as soon as possible.
Users and place owners are responsible for the content they post. In line with the Serbian Law on Electronic Commerce, as a provider of a service that stores third-party information, we are not liable for that content until we become aware that it is unlawful; once we do, we remove it or disable access to it without delay.
We are not responsible for the relationship between you and a place: the quality of food and service, prices, bills, bookings, safety or any harm suffered at the place. Nor are we responsible for the accuracy of place information entered by users and place owners, or for external services Kvart directs you to (for example, Apple Maps for directions, calling a place, or a place’s website).
The “Verified place” and “Local” marks, and content labelled “Sponsored” or “Paid partnership”, are not our recommendation or guarantee.
To the fullest extent permitted by the law of the Republic of Serbia, we are not liable for indirect loss or loss of profit arising from using Kvart or relying on users’ content and place information. This doesn’t limit our liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or for harm to life, body or health, nor any rights you have as a consumer under the law.
You are responsible for the content you post. If a third party brings a claim against us because of your content that breaches these Terms or the law, we may seek compensation from you in accordance with the law. We recommend keeping copies of your photos, as Kvart is not a file storage service.
18.Deleting your account and termination
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you just want a break, signing out is enough.
Deleting your account deletes your profile (name, city and bio), all your posts and photos, including those pending review, your comments and replies, likes, saved places and posts, your list, follows and followers, blocks, the “Local” badge and any claim requests still under review. The exception is posts, comments and photos we previously removed for breaking the rules: we keep them as evidence, hidden and no longer linked to your account, for up to 12 months after removal. Place ratings are recalculated without your posts.
Reports you have made about other content remain, but without your name. The link to your Apple or Google account is removed, your phone number and password are deleted from the account (the number remains only in security sign-in records, for 12 months), and data is cleared from backups within 30 days. Data we must keep by law, or as evidence in proceedings over a breach of the rules, is kept out of public view for as long as necessary, as described in the Privacy Policy.
If you manage a place profile through your account, deleting the account ends your access to that profile. The place profile, the place’s information and the official replies and news published in the place’s name belong to the place and remain on Kvart, and the place can claim the profile again through another person. Places you suggested that we approved also remain on Kvart as place information, no longer linked to your account.
You can create a new account later, unless we permanently closed your previous one for breaching these Terms. You can still delete a permanently closed account in the app; when such an account is deleted, we keep a one-way fingerprint (a hash made with a secret key) of the phone number or the Apple or Google account identifier for up to 3 years, solely to prevent a new account from being created. A deleted account and its content cannot be restored.
We may close an account for breaching these Terms, as described in the section “Enforcement and appeals”. If we decide to shut Kvart down, we will let you know at least 30 days in advance.
Provisions that by their nature should survive the end of use, such as those on the licence for lawfully retained content, liability and dispute resolution, remain in force.
